What am I about?
Since being involved in the popular performance-based budgeting initiatives in the early 1990′s, I have been recognized as one of the pioneers of performance management. My work builds sustainable performance management systems that provide for strategic analysis, program evaluation and process oversight. I have also provided reviews and testimony for the Government Accounting Standards Board and the Government Finance Officers Association in their authoritative guidance to public entities on performance management, and service efforts and accomplishment reporting.
As a CPA, I have spent almost thirty years auditing and helping organizations with performance. I am a business partner with Actuate, providing my system of choice, the BIRT Performance Management software. I decided my toolkit also needed to include assessment and coaching tools to ensure sustainable results for organizations and individuals. I obtained certification to use the research-tested coaching tools provided to a network of over 600 consultants by Resource Associates Corporation and the unique business acumen assessment tool of the Perth Leadership Institute.
Approximately fifteen years of my career has been as an entrepreneur, establishing an accounting franchise, LedgerPlus, where I had the honor of being recognized as Franchise of the Year. I also established two consulting firms during this time. I work with many colleagues that I admire and that have become my friends over the years. Resume1-17-12
My life interests include fostering healthy families and holistic health in the community. I am a native of Tallahassee, Florida, growing up fishing with my grandfather, helping in the family jewelry store and print shop, and enjoying organizing neighborhood parades and activities. Most of my off-work time is spent with my family; swimming and walking with friends; or caring for my 1925 bungalow-style home in mid-town Tallahassee.
